Ford has revealed more details about the upcoming update of its multimedia system, called the SYNC. The fourth-generation system will be standard for all Ford cars starting in 2020 and will always have full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Remember needing a USB cable to plug your phone into that media unit? Forget it! This will no longer be necessary soon. Furthermore, all updates will now be transmitted using the over-the-air (OTA) protocol. The first one will arrive in six months.
The SYNC4 will also offer satellite navigation with real-time traffic load and voice commands, and ship with a wide selection of displays between 8 and 15.5 inches across.
