These innovative anti-theft lug nuts take car security to a whole new level – at least, this is what Ford seems to be telling us. Sounds interesting?
The company has developed special bolts with patterns based on the customer’s own voice properties. The idea here is that everyone has a unique voice that can be used in a variety of security solutions, just like fingerprints.
In order to get unique lug nuts and the custom wrench that will be able to loosen them, the engineering team records the client’s voice and uses software to generate patterns based on it. They then print the nuts and the wrench on a 3D printer.
If using voice appears impossible due to certain reasons, Ford has other similar security solutions to offer as an alternative. For instance, clients may opt for using their initials for lug nut patterns or the outlines of the world’s most famous racetracks.
