Ford P1 is an awesome supercar, too bad it isn’t real

Ford Europe has revealed P1, a supercar concept created with the assistance from the professional cybersports community to star in multiple video games.

Five gamer teams from different countries combined their efforts to build the vehicle under the Fordzilla brand. The gamers consulted Ford designers with regard to the appearance and tech, and around 250,000 people voted to choose the final version. Ford Automotive Exterior Designer Arturo Ariño won the poll by a landslide, collecting 83.8% of the votes.

The futuristic-looking vehicle sports a low glass roof, voluminous fender flares that nonetheless only cover half of the rear wheels, and an originally styled rear end.

Nothing has so far been revealed about the powertrain and acceleration capabilities of the car, but if we were to judge by the lack of the exhaust tips, it may well be all-electric.

While the car won’t make it into production in the real world, it will nonetheless exist this side of the screen, too. A full-size replica is currently being worked on in Cologne, Germany.
