The original 1964 Shelby Daytona is so revered throughout the world you would be challenged to find a copy under $10 million. Fortunately for us fans, Shelby made a gorgeous replica of the classic not long ago.
Depicted here is the Superformance Shelby CSX 9000 Daytona, which emerged from the Shelby American garage back in 2010 as a painstakingly close copy of the original vehicle. Its body is made of lightweight GFRP wrapped in a see-through protective film. Plexiglass is used for most light housings, and American Racing 18-inch wheels give off distinct Halibrand vibes.
The interior is every bit as enjoyable to look at as the exterior with its historically accurate instrument gauges, expensive black leather upholstery, and a spare wheel located behind the only seat row.
Powering the modern Daytona coupe is a 7.0-liter Ford V8 fitted with a Roush supercharger and a Holley fuel system, among many other performance mods. Power and price remain undisclosed, but the car is said to have around 20,000 km (13,000 miles) under its belt.
