The UK subdivision of Ford has unveiled some sketches of a Future Generation Concept, a design study envisioned by kids 8 and 9 years old. The company reasons that by 2030, these kids will be among the first people to pass their driving exams in a world of all-electric transports.
Perhaps predictably, the majority of aspiring drivers said they would most like to steer a flying car. 79% admitted that they were anxious for the time when they are finally admitted to driving. Half said they would prefer an electric car, 17% said petrol, and 10% said diesel.
The ability to fly scored the highest in ‘Features’. Other popular suggestions included comfortable seats, quality audio, and self-driving.
Nedzad Mujcinovic, Design Director of Ford Europe, put together a few 3D drafts showing what the children’s dream car could look like. It turned out black and red, because this color combination proved the most desired according to the survey.
