It is easy to get carried away while restoring a classic car and end up with a pimped-out ride worthy of a drug lord, isn’t it? A true restomod has to show at least some refinement and understatement – just like this 1961 Ford Starliner.
The old-timer comes finished in white with a barely noticeable peach tint and rides on aerodynamic steelies. A closer look behind the spokes reveals what the listing says are six-piston calipers and 14-inch (355-mm) perforated brake discs. The suspension is independent on the front axle and uses Bilstein shock absorbers.
A peek under the hood reveals a 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 mated to a modern Bowler 4-speed automatic (gear ratio 3.50). While the original car maxed out at 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW), the engine-swapped restomod makes 441 PS (435 hp / 324 kW) without breaking a sweat.
Rounding off the project is a cabin wrapped in red and white leather and fabric. The car will be up for grabs at Barrett Jackson Las Vegas with no specified price.
