In its latest video, Ford has shared the current state of its BlueOval City industrial complex currently under construction in Tennessee, USA, and added that an all-electric pickup truck would be made there in two years’ time. The EV, which was dubbed the Project T3 for now, briefly flashes itself in the vid.
You may browse to the end of our image gallery below to get a closer look at the elusive video frame. It is shown in the background of a roofed facility with a full-sized clay mock-up in the foreground. From what little can be discerned, it is a compact truck with a rather short bed.
The T3 stands for ‘Trust The Truck’, Ford says – it is allegedly the main principle the company adheres to as it continues working on the model. It has to be in line with the times, to deliver on the expectations of the digital technology era, and to convey a sense of reliability. Ford pledges to keep updating and improving the pickup once it goes on sale, but also make sure it meets all the needs of customers interested in traditional ‘workhorse’ trucks.
The company goes as far as to proclaim the Project T3 a ‘revolutionary’ one. Per Ford CEO Jim Farly, it will bring together the century-long Ford know-how in pickup truck production and the contemporary achievements in the areas of electric powertrains, software development and aerodynamics.
