Car manufacturer Ford will soon start equipping its factory workers with specially designed exoskeleton suits. This should reportedly make the work easier and safer.
The company says it plans to use the unusual work equipment in all of its factories, but it wants to test it in 15 locations first.
The suits are made of titanium and carbon and can facilitate lifting and carrying of heavy objects. They also serve to reduce muscular fatigue, provide additional protection and reduce the risk of traumas.
The suits will initially be introduced at the Ford assembly facilities in Wayne and Flat Rock (Michigan, USA), followed by a facility in Spain.
Ford is actually not the first car manufacturer to use this kind of technology for the purposes of car assembly. Other examples include Hyundai and BMW, just to name a few.
