The Bronco is a true icon, isn’t it? Even when Ford announced the revival coming up in 2021, countless tuners throughout the world continued working on restoring the SUV’s half-a-century-old predecessors. Let us try to understand just what makes this specific restomod worth the $50,000 asking price.
The car rolled off the line in 1975 and underwent restoration in a Michigan tune-up shop. Care and quality of execution are immediately apparent when you look at the new 17-inch Method Wheels finished in black and bronze, the performance brakes and new suspension parts translating into a 60-mm (2.4”) lift. The paint coat seems old, but hardly any worse for the wear.
The interior welcomes with new mats, an up-to-date audio system and a vintage-styled air conditioning unit. The dash gauges are also new, and the excellent steering wheel is a one-off custom design inspired by Ford vehicles of the 1940s era.
Powering the restomod is the eight-cylinder engine of the 2014 Ford Mustang GT rated at 420 hp (313 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed auto transmission delivers the momentum to the wheels, and the drivetrain condition is as good as it gets.
