Mecum Auctions will be offering this impeccably restored 1971 Ford Bronco for sale late this month; the car looks a bit shorter than normal, don’t you think?
But it gets more interesting than that. The owner of the Bronco flared its fenders and swapped boring OEM wheels for XD rims wrapped in humongous Nitto A/T Terra Grappler GT tires. He also lifted the suspension by 89 mm (3.5”) and installed NitroX shocks for better off-road performance. A four-tonne winch was added to the front and a safety bar was put onto the bed along with two LED stripes.
The body sports a Bordeaux Red finish, while the leather interior is predominantly black with the same red accents here and there. Power comes courtesy of a tuned 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed M/T. The numbers aren’t available.
So, what makes the restomod look so short head to tail? It’s basically an optical illusion created by a combination of insane ride height and giant wheels. The body length stays stock.
