Could this be a Ford Bronco Hybrid?

We know that a part-electric version of the Ford Bronco is already in development, and everything suggests that the car spotted out in the streets the other day was it.

Note the bundle of thick orange cables hanging below the front passenger door – we have seen something similar on all other Ford-badged hybrid test vehicles. If you pay attention, you will also notice that the pattern of the camo includes mountains, tents and lightning flashes – a rather transparent hint at an electrified powertrain under the hood.

Elaborating further on the electric theme, let’s consider the roof. Have you noticed that it is slightly taller than that of the standard Bronco? This might mean solar panels, which are not visible but would probably come in handy during long wilderness trips.

In all likelihood, the Bronco Hybrid will share its powertrain with the Explorer PHEV. The latter has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 assisted by a single electric motor.
