Super Duty-nosed Bronco heading to auction in January

At the beginning of the next year, Mecum Auctions will invite all interested parties to bid for this 1978 Ford Bronco restomod with a couple of outlandish mods slapped on.

Vintage Iron & Restoration conducted the restoration over two years and largely restricted itself to OEM parts – but not the Bronco parts, at that. Instead, it borrowed much from the modern Ford F-250 Super Duty, including the radiator grille, both bumpers, the lighting and the wheels. Needless to say, such a move required plenty of fitting and adjustment by hand, but the result is a vehicle that looks refreshingly new and is bound to attract many glances on the road.

Whereas the exterior is a marriage between vintage and modern, the interior is pure F-250, including nice King Ranch seats with power adjustments.

Speaking of power, the restomod relies on a crate V8 with five liters of displacement, 466 PS (460 hp / 343 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque for propulsion. The listing doesn’t make it clear whether anything was tuned in the engine bay.

Price expectations of the seller remain likewise unknown, but we would imagine a project like this to cost a six-digit amount in USD.
