Tug of War: Land Rover Defender vs. ford Bronco

If you were thinking of buying a real off-roader and considering options, this video may have been made just for you.

The duel is between a new Ford Bronco and a new Land Rover Defender. The American SUV is a serious Badlands Edition spec with the additional Sasquatch package installed. It comes powered by a 2.7-liter V6 rated at 335 PS (330 hp / 246 kW) and 562 Nm (415 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels, and the wheels themselves are shod in 35-inch mud tires – a serious advantage in a contest like this.

Which is not to say the Defender is far behind. It makes use of its old-and-proven 4WD system, an eight-speed A/T, and a 3.0-liter inline-six mill assisted by an electric motor. The cumulative output amounts to 401 PS (395 hp / 295 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque.
