Ford began producing the Bronco – one of its most popular products on the market right now – in July 2021, but no new SUVs leave factory anymore due to an ongoing chip supply mayhem.
The same issue extends to the Ranger, Explorer, Mustang Mach-E and Lincoln Aviator models assembled in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri and Mexico. Production of the ultra-popular F-150 pickup is also on hold until more microchips arrive.
The ongoing supply disruption continues hurting automakers in a big way, despite some experts claiming earlier that it would start receding from the beginning of the year. Ford is by no means alone in this situation: McLaren had to postpone the launch of its Artura model, while Cadillac was forced to strip some of its SUVs and sedans of popular trim options.
