While Ford is busy dealing with the overwhelming demand its new Bronco SUVs, the old model remains reasonably popular among classic SUV enthusiasts and collectors. This 1974 Bronco meticulously restored in a frame-off fashion will be heading to auction in late March, most likely destined to fetch several times its modern counterpart’s price.
The restorer equipped the SUV with Wilwood rotor brakes all around, a 3-inch (76mm) suspension lift, Bilstein shocks and 35-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A wrapped around custom wheels. The exterior received a period-correct finish in light blue and white.
More eye candy can be found in the cabin, which boasts light blue accents and comes draped in soft natural leather. New additions include a modern steering wheel, a digital dashboard, a high-end audio system and an HVAC.
Powering the restomod is a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated Ford Racing V8 mated to all four wheels through a six-speed A/T and two-speed transfer case. The power output is not specified, but we would imagine it being more than adequate both for the highway and the off-road.
