The Hoonigan channel on YouTube has posted a new video of a drag race between a classical Ford Bronco and a Dodge Viper GTS. The off-roader may be 27 years old, but it has been heavily tuned, and the Viper is only a decade younger itself.
Do not be fooled by a largely stock exterior: the Bronco conceals a modern 7.2-liter V8 under the hood with a couple of turbos, a new camshaft and improved cylinder heads that let it hit the transmission with 678 PS (669 hp / 500 kW). The monstrous engine is somewhat handicapped by mud tires, though – not the best choice of rubber for the drag strip.
In turn, the Dodge Viper GTS is nearly stock, unless you count some aftermarket wheels and a titanium exhaust system.
