Garage Kept Motors has gone through the effort of restoring and upgrading a 1966 Ford Bronco SUV for use on and off the road. Unlike most restomods of this kind, it packs a diesel engine and has over 105,000 km (65,000 miles) under its belt. You can buy it right now for $99,900 – or just grab a mint Bronco Raptor for $90,000.
The seller points out that the blacked-out exterior and cabin weren’t available as options for the standard Bronco half a century ago. The tuners refinished it during a full-scale frame-off restoration.
With new Fox shocks and a lift kit, the ground clearance is much higher than stock, but the listing doesn’t specify any numbers. American Racing wheels in the arches come wrapped in Cooper Evolution M/T mud tires.
Power for the build comes from a 3/9-liter Cummins 4BT four-cylinder diesel engine. It is being described as reliable, efficient and torque-happy; the donor car isn’t specified. Depending on the generation, these engines produced between 80 and 130 PS (79–128 hp; 59–96 kW). A five-speed manual transmission carries the momentum to both axles.
