News media throughout the United States have unmasked the production-ready Ford Bronco Sport before its official reveal – and it looks quite like the latest Defender.
The LED headlights, the body proportions, the relatively small glass dome and the edgy outlines all contribute to the impression. The car comes painted in dual colors and boasts plastic guards all around.
The way it looks, we think the Bronco Sport comes based on the same platform as the Escape, and should become available in three- and five-seat variants, as well as several trim levels. It will mainly compete against the Jeep Renegade and Wrangler in its market niche.
As for the engine range, the mini-SUV is expected to ship with turbocharged three- and four-cylinder units rated between 180 and 250 horsepower (134 – 186 kilowatts).
