The new Bronco Sport looks like a compelling option for people willing to drive a practical, off-road-capable and still affordable compact SUV. Some may find issue with the top trim offering only 248 PS (245 hp / 183 kW) and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) of torque, but a software tune by Vivid Racing should fix that as well.
A simple ECU remap enables the Ford 2.0 EcoBoost engine to deliver 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. The higher values become available in a much wider range of engine RPM counts, and hitting max output takes less time with the tweak.
In practical terms, owners of the Badlands spec may expect a power bump of 37 PS (36 hp / 27 kW) and 73 Nm (54 lb-ft) of torque at the wheels. The whole upgrade costs a mere $600, but note that you will have to unplug the ECU and ship it to the tuner for the upgrade, because remote software updates are not supported.
