Ford Bronco Sport falls 122 meters down a mountain, here’s what’s left

These shocking photos were taken by a sheriff who arrived on an emergency call to the Black Bear Pass on September 26, 2021. A Ford Bronco Sport with two people on board plummeted down from a mountain, tumbling multiple times and coming to rest 122 meters (400 feet) below the road.

Two young women and a dog went on a mountain trip and drove to the Black Bear Pass. They neglected the signs warning that the road was one-way and proceeded in the opposite direction. At a certain moment, they realized that they had to turn around, and a 23-year-old woman stepped out of the car to guide the driver around the narrow trail next to a precipice.

Things did not go as intended, however, and the crossover SUV slipped down the slope. Both the driver and her dog ended up thrown out of the car, but while the dog got off with bruises, the woman was hospitalized with serious injuries. The force of the impact when the SUV landed was so strong, it even tore the engine out of its bay.

Commenting on the incident, the sheriff reminded that the trail was specially designated as suitable only for experienced drivers of body-on-frame off-road vehicles, which the Bronco Sport is not.
