U.S.-based car restorer Conductive Classics has rolled out another electromod – this time around a 1974 Ford Econoline E-100 van.
Per Carscoops, the company ended up having to disassemble the van almost completely, and the same went for the Tesla Model 3 Long Range used as the donor for the project. An electric motor slotted in where the internal combustion engine used to be. The power and torque weren’t mentioned, but Carscoops says the original Ford had around 100 horsepower (75 kilowatts) at its disposal. Once swapped, it received 287 PS (283 hp / 211 kW).
The Model 3 also supplied the missing brakes and rear suspension. The battery proved large enough for around 400 km (248 miles) of driving range. The team put the charging port at the rear left side near the taillights.
Conductive Classics asks at least $45,000 for similar conversions.
