Ford will not officially introduce its six-seater SUV “Equator” for China until March 28, but the latest news leaves precious little to the imagination.
The car comes powered by a two-liter turbo-four engine rated at 224 PS (221 hp / 165 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed semi-automatic transmission drives the front wheels by default, but you could opt for an AWD.
Inside, the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and the 1920x720pix digital dash sit adjacent to each other. The multimedia system comes based on the Tencent TAI 3.0 platform and supports sat-nav, voice commands, and AR.
The optional Ford Co-Pilot360 package includes traffic jam assist, ACC, lane control, automated parking, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beam, and frontal collision prevention.
All prices and the remainder of the specs will be announced later. Jiangling Ford will produce the model for China; availability on other markets, if any, remains unknown.
