Following rumors from six years ago, Ford has officially declared that it will be signing a cooperation agreement with Google having smart car tech and features in view.
The partnership will begin in 2023 with the foundation of the Team Upshift, and will last six years. It is envisioned that Ford and Lincoln vehicles will gain access to Google Services and the Android operating system.
Other examples of companies already cooperating with the IT giant include BMW, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, Stellantis, and Volvo. Ford had previously teamed up with startup firm Argo AI to develop autonomous driving solutions. The result was a Ford Escape Hybrid that hit the streets during its tests last fall (watch the video for details).
