Ford spruces up its Ranger and Everest models in Thailand

Ford Thailand has unveiled the refreshed Ranger pickup and Everest SUV. Both updates may make it to other markets eventually, so let’s have a look.

The pickup landed with a black radiator grille similar to that of the Euro-spec Ranger Thunder. Some trims received black mirror caps, door handles and wheels. The Wildtrack spec boasts colorful grille inserts and cabin accents, and benefits from an electric tailgate.

The available trims include XL, XL +, XLT, Wildtrack, Raptor (213 hp / 132 kW, 281mm ground clearance), and XL Street. The latter essentially just drops the ride height from 230 to 135 mm and has sporty stripes on the body.

Customers are free to choose from the three available turbo diesels: a 2.2-liter rated at 160 hp (120 kW) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft) of torque, a 2.0-liter one good for 180 hp (134 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft), and a 2.0L Biturbo capable of 213 hp (132 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). The 2.2L diesel supports six-speed manual and six-speed automatic, the 2.0L version requires either manual or 10-speed auto, and the Biturbo goes automatic. The drive can be on the rear axle or both except for the Biturbo, which always drives four wheels.

For its part, the Everest SUV received a mild facelift, ending up with an Everest Sport-style front grille. Both models will change generations soon.
