Ford buffs up the Everest for Australian wilderness

Ford Australia has rolled out an extensive array of options for the Ford Everest that can turn it into a capable expedition off-roader. The so-called BaseCamp package comes limited to just 450 units.

All Ford Everest BaseCamp vehicles have AWD by default and offer a choice between a diesel five-cylinder (200 hp / 150 kW) and a twin-turbo (213 hp / 132 kW). Both support six-speed manual and ten-speed automatic for transmission.

The equipment list mentions a snorkel, a heavy-duty roof rack, a bull bar with an LED strip, and a trailer hitch.

The base price for the car is $65,000 AUD.
