Ford Everest Raptor: To be or not to be?

For quite some time, the senior management of Ford has been debating the possibility of expanding its extreme sports-oriented Raptor lineup to three vehicles. The corresponding statement was made by an employee of the Australian-based subsidiary Ford Performance.

The current flagship model of the lineup – the Ford F-150 Raptor – is currently enjoying good sales worldwide. Its recently released junior model is also fairly popular among pick-up truck enthusiasts. Just whether the family needs a new top-of-the-line Ford Everest Raptor remains uncertain. Vindicators of the idea generally argue that the popularity of the entire market segment the Raptor family belongs to is steadily growing.

Naturally, we have no official data to base our conjectures upon, but some car industry professionals quote anonymous sources saying the new Ford Everest Raptor may get a variation of the 2.0L supercharged engine which comes with the current-gen Ford Ranger Raptor, and an optional 3.5L EcoBoost V6.
