Royalty’s Ford Excursion goes up on sale at a king-sized discount

Any person with U.S. $84,000 burning a hole in their wallet may purchase this stretched, armored Ford Excursion SUV that had previously belonged to Abdullah II the King of Jordan and the country’s Ambassador to the United States.

The Excursion is already a hulk in its production form, but Becker Automotive Design makes it a whole meter (3”3’) longer. The car is fully clad in armor and sports side glass that is 80mm (3.1”) thick.

The resplendent interior dazzles with its abundance of wood and light beige leather, but the DVD player, the hardware controls and the UIs of the 15-inch displays look dated at best.

Powering the mobile castle is a 6.8-liter gasoline V10 rated at 310 hp (231 kW). An automatic transmission sends the power to both axles.

Despite having been produced 15 years ago, the car only has 6,473 kilometers under its belt. Unofficial sources claim it cost King Abdullah U.S. $620,000 to commission back in 2005, so the current selling price looks like quite the bargain.
