Drag Race: Ultra-powerful 1949 Ford F-100 vs. RTR Mustang

Ken Block has shared yet another video where he drives his unhinged Hoonicorn Mustang against some of the world’s craziest drag strip vehicles. The latest entry has it facing a 70-year-old Ford F-100 dialed up to 1,200 horsepower (900 kilowatts).

The latter combatant received its performance treatment at Chukles Garage in the United States, landing with a 6.7-liter diesel engine, rear-wheel drive, an active rear wing and an artificially aged paintjob. The truck won the Race to the Clouds once, climbing to the Pikes Peak top in mere 11 minutes 24 seconds.

For its part, the Ford Mustang Hoonicorn boasts AWD and a 6.7-liter gasoline V8 rated at 1,400 hp (1,044 kW). In addition to being more powerful, it also weighs around 700 kg (1,500 lbs) less than the Ford pickup.

Watch the video to see how the duo performed.
