Sometimes it feels like there is a race for the highest engine power among North American pickup trucks. Nissan Navara, Volkswagen Amarok, Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 – all of these seem determined to come out on top with updates improving their output almost every year. In its latest iteration, the F-150 packs 381 hp (284 kW) along with 640 Nm (472 lbft) of torque, making it an easy choice for just about any truck lover. But what if you want more?
Enter DTE Systems GmbH, German tuner with an exact understanding of your needs. The company just released an ECU update that can boost the 3.5 V6 engine to 435 hp (324 kW) and 741 Nm (547 lbft) of torque.
The installation process lasts mere minutes, and you get a truck that can rival the much costlier Ford Raptor (457 hp, 691 Nm). Too bad DTE Systems GmbH doesn’t provide any acceleration-related data.
That aside, the tuner also suggests purchasing the optional PedalBox+, a replacement for the stock pedals that should result in much better throttle response.
