An unusual Ford-branded pickup truck has been recently sighted on public roads. Car enthusiasts have voiced opinions that that it could just be a development mule that the company uses to test various engines for its upcoming Ford Bronco SUV. On the other hand, Ford Authority insists that the vehicle is actually called ‘Ford F-150 Tremor’, and will emerge on the mass market in 2020.
The Tremor is an off-road upgrade package that you can install to help your truck conquer the wilderness. It most likely includes a suspension lift kit, grippy all-terrain tires, lower bumper guards, new shocks, limited-slip differentials, massive running boards, and dedicated off-road modes in the drive mode selector.
The Tremor trim version of the F-150 will occupy a market niche straight above the FX4 version, which is a relatively light off-road upgrade kit.
As for the engines, the newcomer will likely ship with the same old assortment, including gasoline options ranging from 294 to 456 horsepower (219 – 340 kilowatts) and a single Power Stroke 3.0 diesel rated at 253 hp (189 kW). Then again, the Tremor trim might as well end up limited to a single specific engine model. We won’t know until the premiere, anyway.
