Car spotters have tracked down and photographed the upcoming 14th generation of the Ford F-150 pickup truck, as it did a test run wrapped in tarpaulin-like cladding.
With over 900,000 units sold in the USA and over 1,000,000 units worldwide in 2018 alone, The Ford F-150 still holds its status as America’s most popular vehicle in the last 40 years.
The current-gen F-150 has been around since 2014 and received an update in 2017. It ships with the following engines:
- 3.3l @ 294 hp (220 kW), 359 Nm (265 lb-ft);
- 2.7l @ 329 hp (245 kW), 542 Nm (400 lb-ft);
- 3.5l @ 380 hp (283 kW), 637 Nm (470 lb-ft), alternatively 456 hp (340 kW), 691 Nm (510 lb-ft);

- 3.0l diesel @ 253 hp (189 kW), 597 Nm (440 lb-ft).
The 3.3-liter gasoline version ships in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission, while the remaining versions take advantage of nine-speed automatic. As for the next generation, it is expected to emerge in hybrid and all-electric forms as well.
Ford may decide to honor the tradition by premiering the pickup at the next North American International Auto Show (NAIAS 2020) in Detroit, which shifts from January to June starting next year.
