Long McArthur – an auto dealership based in Salina, Cansas, USA – has put a custom Ford F-150 truck up on sale. The vehicle is poised as a ‘perfect alternative’ to the F-150 Raptor.
In its strongest factory implementation, the model ships with a 3.5-liter turbo-V6 mill rated at 450 hp (336 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of maximum torque. This example features an engine swap: specifically, a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 by Roush. It comes bundled with a Roush Active Exhaust system ending in two right side-facing tailpipes.
The body of the car wears the recognizable Shelby stripes alongside an in-house designed body kit called the LM650. The set includes a new front bumper, wider arches, a ventilated hood with a powerdome, and LED headlights. Unless we are mistaken, you can order the aero parts separately.
Off-road features deserve a separate mention. There is a Roush Performance suspension kit which comes with a 50mm (2”) lift, Fox shock absorbers, 20-inch beadlock-protected wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 rubber, and a hard cover for the truck bed. The practical value of the latter seems dubious, since it looks like too tight of a fit to haul large stuff around.
Other than that, this indeed seems like a worthy alternative to the Raptor. That is, until you realize that it costs a whopping $84,500, while the Raptor starts from $49,500.
