Ford spied testing the new 2020 F-150

A test prototype of the next-gen Ford F-150 pickup truck has been spotted out in the open. Predictably enough, it still has impervious camo wrap covering all the interesting bits, but you can still draw a few conclusions.

The most important one is that, while the design has changed, these changes are not even nearly dramatic. At least, most of the bodywork stays the same. Another one is that the wheels now measure 22 inches across, or so it seems. Then again, perhaps only the top trims will ship equipped like that.

It is official that the engine range will be revised in the new generation. The 5.0-liter V8 with its 400 hp (300 kW) will yield its place to a new 4.8-liter mill rated at 426 hp (18 kW). A hybrid and an all-electric version will emerge later on as well.

The next Ford F-150 will come into the spotlight next year.
