The Sleeping Monster: This Ford F-150 EcoBoost V6 makes 700+ HP

Can you imagine a Ford F-150 pickup truck sprinting to 60 mph faster than four seconds and covering a quarter of a mile in 11.6 seconds? Hardly? Well, here it is!

Five Star Tuning, from South California, did the job. One obvious way to boost the performance of the truck’s EcoBoost V6 drastically would have been through an engine swap, but the team decided to see how much they would be able to squeeze out of the standard engine. Fortunately for everyone involved, no accidents happened during the entire testing period.

The scope of modifications included an extensive ECU tune, installing a new intercooler, upgrading the air intake system, and swapping the exhaust system with a performance-oriented straight-through pipe.

Tanked with E85, the pickup sends 600+ hp (447+ kW) to the wheels at the dyno, which should basically mean 700+ hp (522+ kW) at the crank. Impressive!
