Car spotters have discovered a pre-production copy of the next-gen Ford F-150 Raptor just parked on a curb. The car was wrapped in impervious camo, but a peek under the bottom yielded an interesting find.
Apparently, the performance truck takes advantage of coil-over suspension springs and not the plain leaf springs of the old Raptor and the current F-150 (see video). It also boasts Fox Racing Live Valve Internal Bypass shocks moved slightly to the front because of the new springs.
The revised suspension design enabled the engineering crew to move the exhaust pipe so as to enhance the departure angle. Finally, suspension drag links were added to hold the rear axle.
The truck should come out next year with the Super Crew Cab as the only option (the smaller Double Cab goes discontinued).
