Ford increases planned F-150 EV production figures by 50%

After launching the Mustang Mach-E and the E-Transit models, Ford has decided to reconsider its electric car production volumes for the next few years. The battery version of the F-150 truck will enjoy a 50% larger production run than originally planned.

The Ford F-150 EV should reach the showrooms by mid-2022, the company reports. Its specs remain unannounced, but we are made to understand that it will be the most powerful and fastest-accelerating F-150 model to date.

Ford has already invested around $700 million into its Dearborn plant to retrofit it for the production of the electric truck. The company had originally only intended to create 300 new jobs at the location, but the revision of the production plans will necessitate hiring another 200 employees.
