The ‘regular’ Ford F-150 was introduced last year, but the automaker never showed us the power-packed Raptor version. It is now officially set to debut on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Exterior changes will most likely be kept down to a minimum, while the powertrain should get all the attention. Rumor has it that the next Raptor may come equipped with the 5.2-liter turbocharged V8 of the Mustang Shelby GT500. If so, it would be capable of around 725-750 hp (533 – 550 kW). The main rival of the F-150, the Ram 1500 TRX, packs a supercharger, 6.2 liters of displacement and 702 hp (524 kW).
Aside from that, the Raptor may make use of the Ford Power Boost system that combines a 3.0-liter turbo V6 with an electric motor for nearly 500 hp (373 kW).
While not confirmed yet, it is also reported that the new Raptor will only ship with a SuperCrew cab type (four doors, largest size).
