Ford discloses all entry-level F-150 Lightning ‘Pro’ specs and details

The ell-electric Ford F-150 Lightning surprised many of us with its unusually low starting price of under $40,000, so let’s see what the entry spec called ‘Pro’ brings to the table.

The car costs $39,974 in the United States and makes do without the fancy bumper-wide LED stripes. Its radiator grille, door handles and bumpers are not painted, and the wheels are smaller. The frunk is still illuminated and water-resistant.

The dual electric motors lose 138 horsepower compared to the next trim level and thus produce 432 PS (426 hp / 318 kW). The torque stays unchanged at 1,051 Nm (775 lb-ft). A full charge lasts 370 kilometers (230 miles), and going 0-100% requires 14 long hours of charging using the supplied Level 1 charger.

Your nearest alternative would be the $49,974 specification capable of 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and 483 kilometers (300 miles) of range. Replenishing the battery from 15% to 100% takes 8 hours from a charging terminal or just 41 minutes from a rapid charger.

The permissible load amounts to 907.2 kilograms, or 2,000 lbs. The entry spec supports trailer attachments weighing up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs), but you could opt for the Max Trailer Tow package and get 3,493 kg (7,700 lbs) or even 4,536 kg (10,000 lbs) if necessary.

The only cab configuration available is SuperCrew, which offers five seats wrapped in vinyl. The 15.5-inch touchscreen display is not included in the entry spec, but both the digital dashboard and the infotainment display still measure a healthy 12 inches across.
