Ford F-150 Raptor power specs leak online

When Ford revealed its new F-150 Raptor four months ago, it never mentioned the engine specifications – but a recently published manual told us all we needed to know.

The manual specifies towing capacities of various Ford trucks, including the latest F-150 Raptor. In the text, its power is given as 451 hp (457 PS / 336 kW) – exactly the same amount the 3.5-liter V6 mill produced in the old generation.

Turns out neither the upgraded turbos nor the improved cooling did anything to raise the output. Furthermore, it appears that the peak power is now obtainable at 5,850 RPM instead of the usual 5,000. The peak torque of 692 Nm (510 lb-ft) is unlocked at 3,000 RPM instead of 3,500.

The new pickup can tow up to 3.7 metric tons (8,200 lbs) of weight and carry up to 635 kilograms (1,400 lbs) in the bed, surpassing both parameters of the old generation by 90 kilos, or 200 lbs.

The R version should go on sale next year packing a V8 under the hood.
