Sources claiming inside knowledge of Ford production schedule are reporting that the performance-laden F-150 Raptor R pickup will not arrive on the market until at least the end of the next year.
According to the leaked information, the Raptor R will share the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 with the Mustang Shelby GT500. The latter uses it for 771 PS (760 hp / 567 kW), but the Raptor will reportedly get a bit less, something in between of 734 and 761 metric horsepower (725 – 750 hp; 540 – 560 kW).
Other mechanical upgrades will allegedly include suspension, wheels and tires.
Judging by the spy shots made so far, the raptor R is not much different from the stock F-150 on the outside. The camouflage suggests that the hood cover and radiator grille will be new, and the same probably applies to the rear fenders.
Ford began accepting pre-orders for the regular 2021 Raptor in June starting from U.S. $64,145 (delivery fees excluded). The truck makes use of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 457 PS (451 hp / 336 kW) and 691 Nm (510 lb-ft) of torque.
