2021 Ford F-150 Raptor gets tested on the dyno

Hennessey acquired a new Ford F-150 Raptor for another tuning project and put its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 to the dyno, as usual. It turned out that the transmission losses are considerably large.

According to the manufacturer, the engine can produce up to 457 PS (451 hp / 336 kW) and 692 Nm (510 lb-ft) of torque. In reality, however, only 366 PS (361 hp / 269 kW) and 622 Nm (459 lb-ft) reaches the wheels. This translates into 19.7% of power losses and 10% of torque losses due to the transmission.

The 2021 Raptor starts from U.S. $64,145 excluding delivery. Ticking all boxes easily bumps the price to above $80,000.

Ford is also working on a performance version of its Raptor truck, the Raptor R. It is set to debut in late 2022 armed with a 5.2-liter V8 good for 734 PS (724 hp / 540 kW) or even more.
