Ford originally opened its pre-order books for the F-150 Lightning in May this year, but with no trim levels or pricing details listed in the configurator, actually buying one has been impossible until now. Here are some good news for those anxious to get their electric pickups.
Ford dealerships have started sending e-mails to all those who tried to pre-order the truck, saying that the configurator will re-open on the manufacturer’s official website on October 26, 2021, complete with a list of trim options and prices. Deliveries will only begin in the spring of 2022, however.
A pre-production batch of trucks only came out in September, by which moment the company had over 150,000 pre-orders on its hands. Due to the high demand, it even had to invest additional funds into doubling its annual production capacities.
