Video: Ancient Ford classics rides with a TANK V12 under the hood

Russell Lowe, owner of New Zealand-based auto restoration shop The Toy Shed, has taken a 71-year-old Ford Bonus F-250 chassis and squeezed a tank engine into it.

The car uses Ford Model A bodywork and comes powered by the humongous 27-liter (1,650ci) power core of the British-made, post-WWII-era tank Centurion. The V12 unit uses dual carburetors and a supercharger to deliver up to 1,200 horsepower (895 kilowatts) to the wheels by means of a planetary reduction gear and a dual-range automatic gearbox.

Military forces of Great Britain used Centurion tanks from 1945 until 1962, deploying them for the first time during the Korean War of 1950.
