There is a fine line between proper, tasteful tuning and gaudy excess, but once you have crossed that line, you might as well go all the way.
The latest video by Ford Era shows what happens when you become obsessed with ground clearance. The 2007 Ford F-250 featured in the video wears a 2017 Lariat front bumper, rocks 2008 Super Duty axles and diode lighting all around. At least from the terminological point of view, these modifications make it a restomod. We have a confession to make, though: our initial reaction was ‘ungodly atrocity’.
Because, as you can see, the truck rocks 559 millimeters (22 inches) of additional ride height courtesy of Plan B Fabrication, which produced the needed components and finished them in chrome for extra style points. The OEM wheels were replaced with 30-inch Plan B Billet rims shod in 42-inch (107cm) tires.
The thing manages to be drivable, as the video suggests, and it certainly is an eye-catcher, if for all the wrong reasons.
