The unique bulletproof car Terradyne Gurkha, which uses the humongous Ford F-550 XL as its basis, can be yours for U.S. $385,000.
Terradyne Armored Vehicles created the custom ride in 2012, endowing it with B7-grade armor all around. The plating can withstand sustained 7.62 caliber fire from most firearms, including the infamous Dragunov Sniper Rifle and the AK-47. The body is considered “safe” when shot at from 20 meters (65 feet) or more.
Elsewhere, the car boasts heavy-duty suspension and brakes, extra LED lighting and protective paint. An acrylic windshield is used in place of the OEM one, and passengers can enjoy an $11,000 audio system.
Powering the ride is a 6.7-liter Ford turbo diesel rated at 400 hp (298 kW) and 1,356 Nm (1,000 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is automatic, and the odo shows around 6,500 km (4,000 miles) of use over the past nine years.
