Peter Dunkel claims he spent six million U.S. dollars building this monstrous motorhome based on the Ford F-750 chassis back in 2008. The exact dimensions aren’t mentioned, but it looks comparable to a semi with a trailer.
According to Dunkel, wiring alone cost around $20,000. He made an attempt to sell it eight years ago, welcoming deals in the $450,000 - $650,000 range, but no one was willing to buy.
The vehicle has a suspension lift and a crew cab, as well as a living area behind the cab that looks approximately the same length. An add-on at the top raises the ceiling for most of the interior, which is meant to accommodate two people.
Amenities on board include a sleeping area, a kitchen, a shower and a WC. The stove and water heater are electric. Dunkel claims that the camper offers the same level of comfort as a standard RV while being only half as heavy and substantially more at home off-road.
Numerous storage niches and cabinets line the walls, and two spare wheels lie on the roof leaving the bed empty. The carrying capacity is still said to be close to eight thousand pounds, or 3.6 metric tons.
A Caterpillar turbo diesel links to a six-speed automatic gearbox and drives the wheels with 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW). The fuel tanks can hold 72 gallons (more than 270 liters) of diesel fuel. The truck maxes out at 70 mph (112 km/h).
