Bad news for all buyers of the new F-150 Raptor: by all indications, the trucks will not ship with the BlueCruise assist package on board. The company has admitted the issue adding that microchip crisis was not the cause.
Apparently, Ford had intended to offer the BlueCruise cruise control functionality as an upgrade for higher trim levels of the F-150. However, an issue was discovered that precluded all sold F-150 units from getting the update properly. As such, everyone who ordered their pickup BlueCruise Ready will have their money back for the feature. The same applies to those who pre-ordered the 2022MY pickup.
In other, less frustrating news, Shelby American tweaked the engine of the new F-150 Raptor series from 457 PS (451 hp / 336 kW) to 532 PS (525 hp / 391 kW). The torque rises from 692 Nm (510 lb-ft) of 826 Nm (609 lb-ft).
