According to Reuters, Ford will be pausing the assembly of the F-150 pickup truck model at one of its factories later this week. Semiconductor crisis gets the blame once again.
This would be the second time the company’s best-selling vehicle gets suspended in production over the past month. Michigan and Missouri factories had to stop due to the same reasons earlier in February. The most recent disruption occurred at the Claycomo industrial complex in Missouri.
Aside from failing to meet the planned production figures, the company will apparently have to dismiss some of the factory staff, a local trade union reports. The disruption is expected to last no less than a week.
Earlier supply issues forced Ford to close its pre-order books for the new Bronco, as well as the Ranger, Explorer, Mustang Mach-E and Lincoln Aviator. These are all being assembled at reduced rates right now, and their respective production schedules are being revised with lower target unit counts.
