Ford F-150 Lightning set to reach production on April 26

Ford introduced the all-electric F-150 Lightning close to a year ago, and those who pre-ordered it are still waiting for the deliveries to begin. It is now official that the assembly starts on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

You may have already seen reports that the pickup truck is already in production. In reality, however, Ford has been assembling pre-production examples, testing them, tearing them down and putting together again to ensure the smooth and coordinated running of all new conveyor equipment.

The automaker will be throwing a party to celebrate the launch, which will be attended by the company executives, employees and select customers. The Ford Rouge industrial complex in Dearborn, Michigan is expected to churn out up to 150,000 Lightning units per year.

Prices for the electric pickup start as low as $40,000 USD.
