Ford has only started producing the all-electric F-150 Lightning around a week ago, but the trucks have already been proven more powerful than claimed.
According to the documents, the standard-range modification now offers 452 U.S. horsepower (458 PS / 337 kW) instead of the 426 hp (432 PS / 318 kW) the company hoped to be able to deliver when it first unveiled it.
High-range modifications offer 580 U.S. horsepower (588 PS / 432 kW) instead of 563 hp (571 PS / 420 kW). Furthermore, the manual states that the F-150 Lightning can carry up to 2,235 pounds (1,014 kilograms) or cargo instead of the initially promised 2,000 pounds (907 kilos).
Ford CEO said in an interview a few days ago that the company was working on another electric pickup truck which would be different from the F-150 Lightning in many ways. Among other things, it would feature an active aerodynamic kit and offer substantially more driving range.
